GAGED GLASS STYLES

Gage Glass and/or Sight flow indicators provide a quick, reliable and economical way to verify the flow of fluids through industrial process lines. Fluid clarity, color, and flow can be monitored through the window. Glass Dynamics, LLC offers tubular, annular, flat, sight and or gage glasses for all process observation requirements that accommodate specific specifications.

Key Notes:

Flat - Gage and sight glasses are industry standard for furnace observation ports, flow indicators, and luquid level to mention a few.

Tubular - Our tubular gage glass is offered in clear as well as Red Line borosilicate tubing from .50 inch 1.5 diameters. We will cut to length and finish ends to your specifications. Pressure ratings range from 90 psi to 600 psi depending on the end finish, diameter, wall thickness and length required.

Annealed Borosilicate - Annealed borosilicate glass is good for normal service where one surface is heated to a maximum temperature of 446°F (230°C), using 1/4" or thicker glass. The temperature difference between ambient and process should not exceed 150°F.

Tempered Borosilicate - Our tempered borosilicate is recommended for use where higher pressures are required. Maximum service temperature is 500°F (260°C). Check with our service tech for psi rating based on thickness and unsupported area.

Furnace Observation "Blue" - Our Blue Furnace Observation Glass is used to reduce glare when observing flame. Diameters to 12" and thickness up to 1/4".

Vycor® - Vycor® is a good choice when high temperatures are involved. Vycor® can be used continuously at 1652°F (900°C). The temperature difference between ambient and process surfaces should not exceed 600°F. Thickness up to 1/2". Excellent optical properties.

Pyroceram® - Pyroceram is a transparent ceramic and offers continuous high temperature use without fear of destruction. It is also resistant to failure due to temperature variation. It is the ideal solution for many wood stoves and fireplaces where glass panels are less than 6 inches from the flames. It is also widely used in appliances such as commercial and residential ovens/broilers. Industrial uses include architectural and outdoor light and chemical process sight glass and Furnace Sight Glass. Pyroceram is available in 3mm and 5mm thickness and available in clear and amber.

Fused Quartz "Clear" - Fused quartz is the most applicable material for high temperature applications. Fused quartz is available in an array of thicknesses. Can be used continuously at 1742°F (950°C).
