Glass Dropper Bulb Materials

Our glass dropper assemblies are available in a variety of bulb materials to match your application. You may choose the style of your cap and the suitability of materials for you project.

Natural Rubber: Natural rubber is nature's main "ready-made" contribution to the elastomer field.     It has high resilience, outperformed only by some of the more recent man-made polyisoprenes and polybutadienes. It exhibits very good tensile and tear properties over a wide stiffness range and has excellent resistance to cold flow.  Abrasion resistance is good. Natural rubber has better low-temperature flexibility than most synthetics, but is not as good as silicone rubber.  Natural rubber does not age as well as many of the synthetics nor is it as chemically inert as some. It is inferior to many of the synthetics for heat aging, resistance to sunlight, oxygen, ozone, solvents or oils. A general purpose elastomer intended primarily for aqueous liquid fill products in the 4.0 - 7.5 pH range. Natural rubber has the best elasticity of all rubber types. It has very good resistance to abrasion and fatigue. Among the drawbacks are the material’s poor resistance to ozone (weather) and oils and fuels.

Monprene®: Monprene® is composed of saturated styrene block copolymer rubbers and thermoplastic olefin resins.  Monprene® exhibits a rubber-like look and feel but has much more to offer.

  • Exceptional elastic recovery

  • High tear strength Resistant to skin oils

  • FDA compliant

  • Odorless

  • High tensile strength at low hardness

  • Exceptional low temperature properties

  • Upper use temperature of 120°C (250°F)

  • Excellent UV stability

  • Chemical resistant to water, acids, alcohols, detergents and oils.

Santoprene™ How do you make cosmetics and toiletries packaging stand out in a highly competitive marketplace? One way is to use a unique material for your packaging. Santoprene™.

  • Soft-touch sensations

  • Flexibility for special designs

  • A top quality luxurious feel

  • Durability due to excellent chemical resistance

Nitrile: It is recommended for applications where resistant to all oils and grease products are required.  Withstands abrasion well and is resistant to moderate ozone.  Excellent compatibility with ethyl alcohol, ammonia, ammonium salts, animal fats, ASTM Oil categories #1, #2, and #3, as well as detergents.

NEOPRENE® : Neoprene is a synthetic rubber material designed to act flexibly, durably, and to resist breakdown by water. Because air and water become isolated in its unique molecular structure, Neoprene is temperately stable. Neoprene is actually more resistant than natural rubber to water, oils, solvents and heat, so it is very useful.
